Are you ready?

  • Afternoon Tea Anyone?

On Tuesday afternoon, we will fully embrace British culture with a delightful Afternoon Tea from 2-5pm at Armathwaite Hall in Keswick for close family and friends.

For those unfamiliar, Afternoon Tea is another wonderful excuse to indulge in sweet treats and maybe even a tipple or two!

Ladies, think colourful and elegant cocktail dresses, while gentlemen, it’s the perfect opportunity to bring out those sharp linen suits. Babies and children are, of course, encouraged to be on their best behaviour and dressed in their cutest outfits.

Please confirm with Charly if you'll be joining us for Afternoon Tea.

  • Low Hall The Lakes

We aren’t expecting a huge crowd, just the right amount of guests to keep things fun.

Friends and family are coming from all over the world to celebrate our special day, and we hope it’s also a day for cultures to mingle, memories to be made, and new friendships to blossom.

Since the spotlight will be on us (for once!), we kindly ask that if you plan to bring your dog or any other pet (including pet pigs?!?), please let us know in advance so we can ensure the chefs don’t get confused!

Dogs should be kept on their leads at all times—Charly definitely doesn’t want any yellow stains on her dress!

For children, we’ve arranged a special play area, but we do ask that they remain supervised. We’ve all been to weddings where the kids run wild! They’ll have plenty of fun, but please keep an eye on them.
Moms with babies, there will be a quiet room available, with a baby monitor provided, for anyone who needs a bit of calm.
Our main goal is to make sure everyone feels comfortable and happy.

This day is sure to be one to remember, and we’re so excited to share it with our dearest loved ones.

  • Early bird catches the worm..

    The celebration doesn’t stop there.

For those of you who know Charly well, you’ll be aware that her grandparents passed away a few years ago, and she was incredibly close to them—especially her grandfather.

To cut a long story short, Charly’s grandfather was her number one role model. They did so much together, and he taught her so many valuable lessons. One of the greatest passions they shared was a brisk walk, and in honour of that special bond, we thought it would be meaningful to take the same childhood walk that Charly did with her grandad from the time she was little. The walk is called Orrest Head, and it’s a simple route that families can easily join. Rumour has it that the actual Gruffalo has been spotted there too, so keep your little ones eyes peeled!

We will leave Low Hall The Lakes at 11am and head to Troutbeck, where the walk begins and ends. We’re aiming to make it a circular route so we can finish at one of Charly and Andy’s favourite pubs, The Mortal Man.

For those joining, a true British feast will await—a hearty pie or a Sunday roast (even though it’s not Sunday)!
Rooms will be available for close family and friends to spend the night.

Charly will be in touch with details, though please note that space is limited.

There’s absolutely no pressure to join us the day before or the day after.
As long as you're there to share our special day with us, that’s all we truly care about. For those of you who know us, you’ll know we love making people happy. We’re also keen on making the most of this trip, especially for our family and friends coming all the way from Spain and other international destinations —we want you to really experience English culture (rain included—please, everyone, PRAY for no rain!).
On a side note, when Charly told me about the “plant a sausage” superstition, it dawned on me just how gypsy this woman is. Seriously, who plants a sausage?!

The "plant a sausage" superstition is one of those bizarre yet oddly charming rituals that’s supposed to keep the rain away on your big day. The idea? You literally bury a sausage in the ground a day or two before your wedding, and somehow, magically, the weather gods decide to bless you with sunshine instead of showers. Because clearly, nothing says "bring on the clear skies" like a sausage buried in the garden! It’s one of those traditions that makes you wonder, who came up with this? Were they sitting around thinking, “I need sunshine... better plant a sausage!"? Yet here we are, hoping that a piece of meat in the dirt will stop the heavens from opening up!

Anyway, we appreciate you all so much and can’t wait to celebrate with each and every one of you!

Love Andy :)
